Property investment no day job for women
According to new research from Bradford & Bingley, 76 per cent of women that manage investment properties also have a day job.
Furthermore, 42 per cent of women who invest in property do much of the refurbishment work themselves.
Fiona Curtin, a buy-to-let expert at Bradford & Bingley, said: "The last few years have seen a huge growth in the number of women investing in property."
Bradford & Bingley recently launched the Property Woman of the Year Awards.
Ms Curtin said: "These awards recognise their successes, the challenges they've overcome and ultimately act as an inspiration for more women to become part of this growing property sector."
The survey also found however, that of the women in property who deal personally with tradespeople, 43 per cent feel that they are quoted higher prices because they are women.
Recently, the former head of the Federal Reserve, Alan Greenspan, told the Daily Telegraph that the vibrant UK housemarket will stop growing in the near future.
