The National Minimum Wage rose on Saturday, following recommendations from the Low Pay Commission.

The adult rate rose to £6.08 an hour, while the apprentice rate increased to £2.60 an hour. [NDS]

House prices fell for the 15th consecutive month during September, according to figures from Hometrak.

The data suggests that prices fell by 0.1 per cent during the month, while the number of new buyers dropped by 2.6 per cent. [Guardian]

The government is seeking views on employment legislation as it looks at which rules it believes could be “improved, simplified, or even abolished.”

The move has caused consternation amongst workers groups concerned that scrapping legislation could make employees’ position in the labour market more precarious. [Telegraph]
