The locations of the second wave of enterprise zones have been announced.
The zones will be established in locations in Cambridgeshire, Cornwall, Gosport, Hereford, Harlow, the Humber Estuary, Kent, Leicestershire, Norfolk, Northampton Waterside, Oxfordshire, Suffolk and Warrington.
The government claims the zones will create as many as 30,000 new jobs by 2015.
Plans for the zones were originally announced in this year’s Budget, with 21 set to be established across the country.
Businesses in the zones will benefit from reduced business rates and more favourable planning regulations.
There are also plans for councils across the country to be allowed to keep the business rates they collect, rather than paying them to the Treasury for distribution.
