A new survey has uncovered the business impact of slow-moving tradesmen.

Sponsored by property maintenance firm Aspect Maintenance, the recent YouGov survey has revealed that, every year in London, unpunctual maintenance engineers' cause a loss of more than 13 million hours of work time.

"This survey illustrates the disruptive impact that tardy tradesmen are having on London's businesses, by unnecessarily wasting the working hours of employees," said William Davies, managing director of Aspect Maintenance, a firm offering services to both residential and commercial customers.

"The property maintenance sector is undoubtedly one of the most poorly serviced industries in the UK - it seriously needs to clean up its act."

According to the poll, over the course of the last 12 months, close to one out of every three respondents have found it necessary to take time off work to wait for an engineer.

In drawing its conclusions, the survey polled a total of 996 individuals in London. Of that total, 631 were actively employed.
