The government's efforts to help small businesses are not working.
This is according to new research from Shelley Stock Hunter, which found that nine tenths of small business owners believe that the coalition’s initiatives have failed to help their firms.
The survey also found that the government’s flagship promise to establish a state-backed bank had fallen on deaf ears, with six tenths of respondents suggesting that it will not help their business and a further three tenths remaining undecided.
Small businesses and independent landlords are on the front line of an increasingly tough fight. The country’s economic position looks ever more precarious, and the government’s recent initiatives, from the Enterprise Finance Guarantee Scheme to the National Insurance Holiday, have failed to gain real traction.
