Can you start a business during a recession and still be succesful? We met with six Simply Business customers who have done just, building businesses in difficult times.

In today’s uniquely difficult economy, success in the service sector is hard to achieve. But across the country there are creative, innovative businesses bucking the trend and beating the recession.

Blue Tit is one of those businesses. An exciting new salon situated in the heart of London’s fashionable Dalston, Blue Tit has a staff that splits its time between the salon and the catwalk. Blue Tit provides a service that is forward thinking but accessible, tending to the barnets of some of the East End’s most discerning consumers.

The salon is jointly owned by two friends who met, fittingly enough, at London Fashion Week. In this exclusive video co-founder Andreas Hinteregger explained the realities of setting up a business in the service sector - from meeting his business partner to kitting out his premises.
