Business tips and links from the team - week 10

While I’m compiling this selection from our knowledge team, we are still working in a lot of smoke. Due to a fire next to our office block, the whole day was kinda smoky.  But it doesn’t put us off making our weekly Top 5. My colleague Rosie has written an article about the importance of business insurance inspired by yesterday’s fire.

1. Is offline marketing still a viable lead generation tactic?

One of our most popular articles this week was from Josh Hall about the importance of offline marketing. Especially because he (and we) are working for an online comparison website, hardly using ANY offline marketing tactics. Josh made us think about how we can use offline marketing techniques to improve our online efforts. Thanks Josh!

2. Check out this Overnight & Prints website

The makers of Overnightprints.com want to sell you something. Nothing wrong with that, we do the same. These guys offer valuable knowledge articles for small business about graphic design, business cards, direct mail solutions and more. Check out their knowledge section and maybe you will want to purchase something too!

3. Powering Small Business Britain

On poweringsmallbusinessbritain.co.uk a very interesting research report can be found. YouGov surveyed over 800 small businesses to discover their insights and, in particular, uncover how they are looking to develop the e-commerce component of their organisations. Read this report now.

4. Temporary Tattoos with your own logo or design

It’s almost spring. Lot’s of businesses are organising outdoor events this spring. Why not use something inexpensive and original as advertising? We think temporary tattoos would be very useful for promotion efforts. I found them on a European weblog for promotional products. Maybe something to consider? Have a look.

5. Landlord software from Juicy Property

Because we sell landlord insurance we have had a lot of feedback from customers who rent out their private property or from commercial investors for their buy-to-let.  One of the most common problems is a proper administration tool. Juicy Property offers an easy to manage landlord software tool. Check it out.
