Dragons' Den is in no small part about personality. Contestants in the Den have to face off against the force of the Dragons' personalities and more often than not they come off worse. When a weak pitch is compounded by unrealistic financial projections and a sky high valuation, this only serves to make matters worse.

Television shows such as Dragon's Den and The Apprentice have given lots of wannabe entrepreneurs in Britain the motivation they needed to make their dream business a reality. In the last few years more people than ever are leaving the safety of their careers for the excitement and challenge of being their own boss.

I've never lost any personal belongings while sailing, probably because I've never been, but once I did drop my door key through a gap in the floorboards of my local pier, to be lost forever in the murky depths of the North Sea. As a consequence I couldn't get into my house, which was pretty annoying.

There is no doubt that having a child changes your whole life. Priorities are suddenly turned on their head, family finances can take a hit and life becomes much more of a juggle as women search for that highly sought after, but often elusive, work / life balance.
