Small business views on the hung parliament
We asked our Small Business Panel what they think about the hung parliament, the NI increase and which leaders they think will pull us through.

Additional observations
- 25% of small businesses on the panel were rooting for a hung parliament of some kind during the election
- Of those who felt a hung parliament would be negative for businesses, the main reasons cited were that it would mean a lack of clear leadership/direction for the UK, and that it would mean continued devaluation of the pound.
- Slower decision making was also a factor
- Small businesses were less pessimistic about the impact of a hung parliament on British entrepreneurialism, with about half of respondents saying it would have no impact or a positive impact.
- The Conservatives were the clear front-runners when it came to the question of which of the main three parties better represents the interests of business in the UK
- 105 small businesses were surveyed for this research
