David graduated from Northwestern University in Chicago in 1994 with a BA degree in European History and, after a year managing a pizza restaurant, went on to get a MSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics.
After a graduation, David joined Lehman Brothers where he worked as an investment banking analyst on Wall Street for almost two years in the Technology M&A Group before leaving to become one of the early employees in Firstmark Communications Europe, a European telecommunication start-up. He worked for Firstmark in a number of capacities and was eventually was made the Director of Corporate Finance reporting directly to the CFO.
His responsibilities included business and financial planning, advising board of the directors on capital structure and capital raising opportunities. Firstmark raised more than $1 billion in working capital.
In 2001, David joined the business development team within Xbridge and, on 07 April 2004, David joined the Board of Directors at Xbridge Limited. In September 2003, David took over day-to-day management of the technology team
